S&P USA Ventilation Systems Introduces BACnet Fan Control

By S&P Marketing

Jacksonville, FLS&P USA Ventilation Systems LLC (S&P USA), a leading provider of HVAC air movement and ventilation solutions, is proud to announce the launch of our latest accessory: the BACnet Fan Control. The BACnet Fan Control offers a simple, low-cost solution for connecting S&P USA ERVs with a building management system (BMS) or building automation system (BAS).

The easy-to-operate, plug-and-play BACnet Fan Control’s installation saves up to 50% in labor/material costs versus adding an I/O connection for ERV BMS monitoring/control for commercial building indoor air quality (IAQ). The BACnet Fan Control is a custom-engineered, BACnet MS/TP protocol device designed for facility managers and installation/service contractors that prefer a quick, simple BACnet interface.

What Sets the BACnet Fan Control Apart?

The BACnet Fan Control offers users a much easier and less expensive solution compared to traditional methods for connecting ERVs to a BMS, which can cost thousands of dollars. This simple wall-mount controller allows the user to turn an S&P USA ERV on and off either through the keypad, through a digital input with a remote switch, or through a BMS with BACnet MS/TP. With this solution, customers can easily and affordably meet their needs for improving indoor air quality without sacrificing functionality.

In addition, our controllers are BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) listed, ensuring the unit will be compatible with other BACnet systems, and allowing for a seamless connection between ERVs and the BMS.

Key Features

  • Connects ERVs to a building at up to 50% less cost than adding another I/O connection

  • Set fan on/off status and speed (speed control limited to TRCeN/TRCe units)
  • Wall-mounted, LCD display
  • 24VAC powered
  • Installation: The field installed accessory can be mounted by the unit or on a standard junction box
  • Digital input interlock: Systems may be turned on or off based on air-handling unit (AHU) status, smoke-detector input and occupancy sensor
  • BACnet MS/TP integration: Users can view statuses, shut down the unit based on building needs and set fan speeds
  • BTL listed

Perfect for Light Commercial Applications

This controller is ideal for light commercial applications, including schools, healthcare offices, houses of worship, retail stores, and other spaces that need to override idle, interlocked central air handling units when quick outdoor air induction from the ERV is needed to enhance indoor air quality.

And why does this matter? Studies have shown that enhancing indoor air quality via energy-efficient ERVs improves occupant health and wellbeing, all while keeping heating and cooling costs low.

An Easy and Low-Cost Way to Integrate ERVs with BMS

The BACnet Fan Control offers a simple, hassle-free and budget-friendly solution for connecting ERVs with a BMS or BAS, without sacrificing functionality. It also offers users the highest level of product integrity and reliability thanks to its BTL listing.

The controller’s unparalleled ease of use and lower price point makes it the easy and economical solution for a variety of commercial and residential applications, including schools, offices, clinics, churches, retail stores and more. With the BACnet Fan Control, achieving efficient ventilation and temperature control has never been more accessible.
