DEDPV: the right choice for your dryer booster needs

By Becca Lucio

As we learned in part 1 of our two part blog series, the PV-DEDPV, Dryer Exhaust Duct Power Ventilator, is an important addition to our PV series with its dryer exhaust application. To learn more about dryer exhaust and the problems it can cause in your home, view our first blog here.

PV-DEDPV is UL 705 safety listed for both gas and electric dryers which complies with international building codes. DEDPV is Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) and Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) certified for air performance.

The use of a DEDPV is important as it allows dryer duct runs to be extended up to 120 feet. This allows much more flexibility in laundry room placement. It is especially useful in a mixed-use building where interior units are sandwiched between other units. DEDPVs can be installed inline within walls making the fan an even better option for multistory homes as it does not need to be placed in the attic.

Key features of the DEDPV include:
  • Pressure Sensor for automatic operation with clothes dryer
  • LED Light to indicate operation status
  • 6’ Power cord
  • Galvanized Steel Construction
  • 50 feet of cable to connect LED indicator
  • 5 year warranty

Once installed, the DEDPV will operate whenever the dryer is activated. You can see it is activated by the LED switch located near the dryer itself.  The buildup of pressure turns on the pressure switch integrated within the unit. The fan will run the entire cycle. Once the dryer is turned off, the pressure sensor recognizes the drop and will turn off the DEDPV after a 5 minute delay to reduce the duct temperature to ensure the lint has been fully exhausted.

Three reasons why S&P’s DEDPV is the best solution for Dryer Exhaust applications:
  1. High Quality construction
  2. Easy to install
  3. One of the most cost effective dryer booster fans on the market
