S&P USA received the 2020 First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) Regional Manufacturing Awards, runner-up Outstanding Leadership Category during these unprecedented times. Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate this accomplishment and the successes we have had in 2020. Speakers included Congressman John Rutherford, Jeff Bredeson, President of S&P USA, and VP of Operations, Greg Johnson.
What is Leadership?
Forbes tells us, “Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal.” Maximizing others’ effort without the titles traditionally thought of in a corporate setting means a leader can be anyone that leads up, down, or sideways, motivating everyone to a common goal.
S&P USA strives to create a strong team embracing the leader in all of us, no matter our title.
We find our strength is our team’s cohesiveness and willingness to cross boundaries outside of their normal areas of responsibility routinely. People are treated the same with mutual respect throughout all levels of the organization despite their job title. Our focus is always to seek continuous improvement in our work in cost reductions, product expansion, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction.
As Greg Johnson, VP of Operation put it, “S&P USA is truly a family-like business atmosphere where all ideas are valued, and personal needs or desires are reviewed for solutions to assist our employees in being the best version of themselves in and outside of the workplace. We strive to look for positive ways to enrich the employee experience continually.”
